Eron's 1,000 sqm mural W.A.L.L. becomes record public art in Milan's CityLife park

artist · 2026-05-04

Italian artist Eron (born Rimini, 1973) has completed W.A.L.L. (Walls Are Love's Limits), one of the world's largest mural artworks, spanning 120 by 8 meters (1,000 square meters) in the CityLife park in Milan. The monumental painted wall features barbed wire textures formed by micro-letters spelling the names of five continents, with a sun-like heart at its center, all rendered in a misty, dreamlike style. The work is intended as a political statement against all walls—physical and cultural—and will be demolished by the artist's will in about two years. CityLife is a major urban redevelopment project covering 366,000 square meters, with architectural landmarks by Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki, and Daniel Libeskind. The park will host future site-specific interventions by artists including Adrian Paci, Mario Ariò, and Elisabetta Benassi. In 2018, Fondazione Trussardi installed Jeremy Deller's inflatable Sacrilege (a 1:1 replica of Stonehenge) in the same park during Miart 2018. The area also includes Europe's first city-center golf course, the largest urban pedestrian zone, and a business and shopping district powered by renewable energy.
