Ernest Pignon-Ernest: Je est un autre at Espace Louis Vuitton Venice

exhibition · 2026-04-26

French artist Ernest Pignon-Ernest, born in Nice in 1952, has been invited by the Fondation Louis Vuitton to showcase "Je est un autre" at the Espace Louis Vuitton in Venice. Curated by Suzanne Pagé and Hans Ulrich Obrist, this exhibition serves as a collateral event for the 2024 Venice Biennale, emphasizing Pignon-Ernest's contributions to French situationism and the Fluxus movement. His work, influenced by Picasso, includes drawings created in actual environments. Notably, his famous poster depicting Pasolini's corpse was displayed in Rome and Naples. The exhibition also features pieces inspired by Pasolini, Rimbaud, Artaud, and Genet, along with new portraits of Anna Akhmatova and Forough Farrokhzad. The title alludes to the concept of "the stranger, the poet." It will be hosted at the Espace Louis Vuitton Venezia.
