Eric Clapton's Rare Patek Philippe Could Fetch $1.4M at Phillips

market-auction · 2026-05-12

On June 13-14, Phillips New York will host an auction featuring two timepieces from Eric Clapton's collection. The standout item is a neo-vintage Patek Philippe Ref. 5004, noted as 'most probably unique,' showcasing a white-gold case paired with a 'rose' dial—marking the first time this specific configuration has been publicly displayed. Manufactured from 1994 to 2010, it features a perpetual calendar and a split-seconds chronograph, activated via a crown button. Only 27 white-gold versions exist, with a few having special-order dials. This watch, complete with original accessories, is estimated between $700,000 and $1.4 million. Additionally, a Patek Philippe Nautilus 'Jumbo' Ref. 5711/1A-010, acquired by Clapton in 2018, is estimated at $70,000–$140,000. The auction, New York Watch Auction: XIV, will also showcase highlights like an F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Résonance 'Souscription No. 7' (one of 20), a Rolex Daytona 'Paul Newman' with 'John Player Special' dial, and a Patek Ref. 1518. Clapton, a distinguished watch enthusiast, began selling parts of his collection in the early 2000s.
