Ercolano Archaeological Park unveils new logo and multi-year program

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

Amid the pandemic, the Archaeological Park of Ercolano unveiled a fresh online presence, featuring a logo inspired by Hercules, crafted by Elio Carmi. Since taking the helm in 2017, Director Francesco Sirano has introduced a long-term initiative aimed at conservation and enhancement. The park is committed to safeguarding its heritage and began a collaborative effort to define its identity during COVID. Future exhibitions will showcase "L'ebanistica e l'arte dell'arredo ligneo" and "La civiltà del cibo ed i piaceri della tavola nell'antica Ercolano." Unlike Pompeii, Herculaneum retains carbonized furniture. Permanent displays include the gold collection in the Antiquarium and the ancient theater. Seasonal activities feature spring restoration tours, summer evening explorations, and community gatherings.
