Eran Neuman resigns as Israel Museum director after one month, returns to Tel Aviv University

Eran Neuman has stepped down as director of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem after barely a month in the position. He will resume his previous role leading the David Azrieli School of Architecture at Tel Aviv University. The museum's official statement attributed the departure to differing views on his responsibilities and working conditions. However, some observers suggest that continued involvement by former director James Snyder, who held the role for more than two decades, may have contributed to tensions. Following Snyder's departure after a nine-month search for his successor, he assumed a newly created position as international president and director emeritus. Deputy director Ayelet Shiloh-Tamir will serve as acting director while the institution seeks a permanent replacement. The news was reported by Art Asia Pacific.
