Enzo D'Alò Returns with Animated Mystery 'Pipì, Pupù e Rosmarina'

other · 2026-05-05

Italian director Enzo D'Alò (born 1953 in Naples) releases his new animated film 'Pipì, Pupù e Rosmarina in Il mistero delle note perdute' on November 16, distributed by Bolero Film. The film originates from the TV series aired on Rai 3 and Rai Yo-Yo, but stands independently as a cinematic work. It follows a raccoon, a bird, and a rabbit who investigate the theft of musical notes from a concert score. D'Alò uses the mystery genre to introduce children to classical music, incorporating pieces from Rossini's 'L'italiana in Algeri', Massenet's 'Don Quichotte', and Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker'. Composer Daniele Di Gregorio adapted the scores for voice and piano to make them accessible. Voice actors include Giancarlo Giannini and Francesco Pannofino, with younger voices Lucrezia Roma, Agnese Marteddu, and Mattia Fabiano. The characters were originally created by Annalaura Cantone, using découpage technique inspired by Emanuele Luzzati and Giulio Gianini, later digitized. D'Alò's previous classics include 'La Freccia azzurra', 'La Gabbianella e il gatto', and 'Opopomoz'.
