Enzo Cucchi and Enrico David in metaphysical dialogue at Casa Masaccio
A new exhibition at Casa Masaccio in San Giovanni Valdarno brings together works by Enzo Cucchi (born 1949 in Morro d'Alba) and Enrico David (born 1966 in Ancona) in a sparse, metaphysical setting inspired by a Leopardian incipit. The show features a limited number of pieces including tapestries, sculptures, and paintings. David's wool tapestries stand out for their strong two-tone compositions depicting stylized animals and natural elements, evoking fragments of everyday life suspended in a timeless dimension. Cucchi's works, meanwhile, resonate with medieval echoes. The exhibition is discreetly installed, allowing the ancient rooms to breathe, with each room containing only a few works that nevertheless engage in dialogue across space through an intangible narrative thread. The show was curated by Niccolò Lucarelli, who also wrote the accompanying text.
