Enrico Vezzi's 'Future in my mind' Opens LATO's Decennial Series in Prato
To mark its tenth anniversary, architect Luca Gambacorti's LATO space in Prato launches 'A place to be', a site-specific cycle curated by Matteo Innocenti. The series runs through 2016 with three solo shows and a group exhibition. Enrico Vezzi (born 1979, San Miniato) inaugurates with 'Future in my mind', featuring five works in the entrance area that create an ascending climax. His piece 'LiberationCarousel' invites visitors to shed their clothing as a symbolic act of openness. In collaboration with Gambacorti, Vezzi presents '7 Luca's Wonders', a visual dialogue juxtaposing canonical buildings with spontaneous architecture. At the top floor, 'Music For Commoner' amplifies the building's structural sounds, created with musician Remo Zanin. The exhibition concludes with 'Everything is related to everything else', a lightbox using a repurposed shop sign. The show runs until May 20, 2016 at LATO, Piazza San Marco 13, Prato.
