Enrico Rava and Fred Hersch Release Duo Album 'The Song Is You' on ECM
Italian trumpeter Enrico Rava and American pianist Fred Hersch have released a duo album titled 'The Song Is You' on ECM Records, recorded in November 2021 at Auditorio Stelio Molo RSI in Lugano. The album features jazz standards like 'Round Midnight' and original compositions. Rava, 83, has been with ECM for over 50 years, while Hersch makes his debut on the label. The duo formed after a concert in Pescara in summer 2021 and will tour Italy in October–November 2022. Producer Manfred Eicher oversaw the recording. Both musicians describe the collaboration as a 'conversation between souls' and a 'dream come true.'
