EngiAgent: Multi-Agent LLM System for Engineering Problem Solving

ai-technology · 2026-05-06

A new system named EngiAgent has been introduced to improve the capacity of large language models in addressing open-ended engineering challenges. Engineering tasks differ from mathematical problems as they demand open-ended analysis, modeling based on feasibility, and iterative refinement, areas where LLMs often struggle with ensuring feasibility. EngiAgent features a fully connected coordinator that mimics expert workflows via specialized agents for tasks such as problem analysis, modeling, verification, solution finding, and evaluation. This coordinator allows for adaptable feedback routing, which addresses the limitations of previous systems. The system is elaborated upon in a paper available on arXiv (2605.02289v1), released on May 22, 2025.
