Endorfine Rosa Shocking Film Festival Returns with Sports-Themed Women's Stories
The sixth Endorfine Rosa Shocking film festival, helmed by Laura Aimone, is set to take place in Venice, Italy, from September 26 to 30, 2023, with support from the City of Venice and CONI. Originally established in Treviso, the festival relocated to Venice starting from its third edition. This year's focus, 'Sempre Più In Alto' (Always Higher), showcases ten films that depict women defying norms through sports, including titles like 'Dunk' (Sophie Martin, France, 2018), 'Pasang, In the Shadow of Everest' (Nancy Svendsen, US, 2022), and 'Myrtle Simpson: a Life on Ice' (Leigh Anne Sides, US, 2019). The festival also highlights themes such as violence against women, climate change, and social issues through an optimistic lens.
