Emmy 2025: The Studio, Adolescence, and The Pitt dominate

award · 2026-04-26

At the 2025 Emmy Awards held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, three series dominated: Seth Rogen's Hollywood-set comedy The Studio (Apple TV+), which set a category record with 13 wins; the British miniseries Adolescence (Netflix), which sparked debate in the UK Parliament; and the medical drama The Pitt (Sky/NOW, from September 24). The Studio won for best comedy series, and Rogen took acting, writing, and directing awards (the latter shared with Evan Goldberg). Adolescence won best miniseries with eight Emmys, inspired by a real teen murder case. The Pitt, surprising favorite Severance (which won eight awards from 27 nominations), earned Noah Wyle his first Emmy for best dramatic actor, after five nominations for E.R. Britt Lower won best dramatic actress for Severance; Jean Smart won best comedy actress for Hacks, her seventh Emmy. Other winners include Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Stephen Graham (Adolescence), and Olivia Colman (The Bear). The ceremony also honored The Traitors (reality), The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (talk series), and SNL50: The Anniversary Special (live special).
