Emmanuelle Moureaux's '100 colors path' installation transforms Tokyo space with chromatic timeline

In 2025, Emmanuelle Moureaux, a French architect and artist, unveiled her installation '100 colors no.53 "100 colors path"' at Takanawa Gateway City in Tokyo, which will be on view until July 21. This artwork showcases 2,400 lines inscribed with years that project a century ahead, utilizing Moureaux's distinctive palette of 100 colors. Since relocating to Tokyo in 1996, she has cultivated her 'shikiri' concept, which transforms spaces into engaging experiences. Her '100 colors' series, initiated in 2013, has been exhibited worldwide, including locations like Shinjuku Central Park in Tokyo and Oslo Public Library. Moureaux has collaborated with notable brands such as Google, UNIQLO, ISSEY MIYAKE, and The National Art Center, Tokyo, creating inclusive, multisensory experiences that make color a universal means of connection.
