Emmanuelle Moureaux's 100 Colors No.54 'FLOW' Transforms Hong Kong Commute
Emmanuelle Moureaux, a French artist and architect, just launched a new permanent public artwork called 100 colors no.54 “FLOW” in Central Yards, linking Hong Kong’s Central business district to the Central Ferry Piers. Set for completion in 2026, this installation features hanging numbers that symbolize the years 2027 to 2032, creating an engaging countdown for passersby. This work is part of her long-running 100 colors series that began in 2013 and is influenced by her shikiri concept, which uses color to shape spaces, inspired by her move to Tokyo in 1996. The display includes mirrored heart-shaped number 2s and bold lettering of the venue’s name, designed to captivate daily commuters until 2032.
