Emma Talbot's Psyche installation reimagines life cycles at Kaiser Wilhelm Museum

Emma Talbot, a British artist, has unveiled a new site-specific installation named Psyche at the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum (KWM) in Krefeld, Germany. This exhibition is part of the tenth iteration of the Collection Satellite series, which has been fostering interactions between contemporary art and the museum's architecture and collection since 2018. Talbot's latest works reinterpret Johan Thorn Prikker's 1923 mural Lebensalter (Ages of Life), offering a fresh perspective on the concept of a cyclical life process. Renowned for her large silk installations, Talbot integrates painting, sculpture, drawing, and animation into intricate spatial settings, blending figuration, ornamentation, and text. The installation addresses themes of humanity and AI, contemplating their future. Talbot, born in 1969 in Stourbridge, currently resides in London and Reggio Emilia.
