Emma Lavigne's 'Mondes flottants' Transforms Lyon Biennale
The 14th Lyon Biennale, titled 'Mondes flottants' (Floating Worlds), is curated by Emma Lavigne and follows a 'modern' theme set by director Thierry Raspail. It takes place across La Sucrière and the Musée d'Art Contemporain (Mac), connected by a dome designed by Buckminster Fuller. Notable works include Dominique Blais's 'Melancolia', Marcel Duchamp's 'The Large Glass', and an installation by Ernesto Neto. La Sucrière features Robert Breer's 'Floats' and Bruce Conner's 'Crossroads' (1976), along with David Medalla's 'Cloud Canyons' (1963-2016). The second floor presents Dario Villalba's figures and Philippe Quesne's 'Cave', while the top floor showcases Melik Ohanian's installation and Julien Creuzet's scenes. The event concludes with a concert by Kassin and Arto Lindsay, featuring Shimabuku.
