Emma Lavigne Named CEO of Collection Pinault, Succeeds Jean-Jacques Aillagon
On November 1, Emma Lavigne will take on the role of CEO at the Collection Pinault, stepping down from her position as director of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. She succeeds Jean-Jacques Aillagon, who will remain as an advisor. Lavigne's new role follows the recent opening of the Bourse de Commerce in Paris, a venue renovated by Tadao Ando that showcases François Pinault's art collection. Her early tasks will involve planning the next exhibition at the Bourse de Commerce while managing Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana in Venice with Bruno Racine. Lavigne, who joined the Palais de Tokyo in 2019, previously curated an exhibition featuring David Hammons, which impressed Pinault. An art historian, she started at the Cité de la Musique and later became the curator of contemporary art at the Centre Pompidou in 2008.
