Emma Enderby named new director of KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin

Emma Enderby has been appointed as the new director of KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, succeeding Krist Gruijthuijsen, who served for eight years. Currently, she leads programs and research as the chief curator at Haus der Kunst in Munich, where she has curated notable exhibitions like Tony Cokes: Fragments, or just Moments and a project with Rirkrit Tiravanija. Previously, she was the chief curator at The Shed in New York, organizing retrospectives for Agnes Denes and Tomás Saraceno, along with works by Ian Cheng, Trisha Donnelly, Oscar Murillo, and Carrie Mae Weems. The selection committee highlighted her commitment to ecological issues and her vision for Berlin's role in the global arts scene. Enderby will begin her new role on April 15, 2024, with programming expected to start in January 2025.
