Emma Dante's 'Bestie di scena' Debuts at Milan's Piccolo Teatro

Emma Dante's third production for Milan's Piccolo Teatro, 'Bestie di scena,' premieres on February 28, 2017, at the Teatro Strehler, running until March 19. Following the successes of 'Le sorelle Macaluso' and 'Operetta burlesca,' the piece is described as a non-story that dismantles traditional narrative structure through wild, alienating energy. There is no plot, no roles, no costumes or sets, no dialogue or music except for the Platters' 'Only You.' The performers, called 'bestie di scena,' are likened to Adam and Eve refugees from Paradise, with no exit or path.
