EMMA Creative Centre Pforzheim's Designers in Residence 2026 Exhibition

The EMMA Creative Centre Pforzheim presents the Designers in Residence 2026 exhibition, featuring projects by three international designers. Floor Berkhout's 'World Woven: The Things You Wouldn't Want to Forget' highlights uncredited women's labor in early computing, specifically the core rope memory technique used in Apollo 11's navigation software, hand-woven by women whose work was labeled 'LOL' (Little Old Ladies). The installation invites visitors to weave names of memorable women during the opening on 26 June 2026. Hanna-Katri Eskelinen's 'Currents' explores sustainable futures through ceramic bottles and scroll drawings created in a community workshop at Inselsteg in Pforzheim. Minerva Skyttä's 'Goldstadt' features knitted garments incorporating paper yarn, pearls, and silver chains, reflecting her hometown Kouvola, Finland's milling history and Pforzheim's jewellery tradition. The scholarship programme runs annually from April to June, inviting young designers in jewellery, fashion, accessories, industrial, communication, and other design disciplines.
