EMLibrary: Eliseo Mattiacci's Library Explored on Instagram

On the Instagram account of Studio Eliseo Mattiacci, curator Cornelia Mattiacci, the daughter of artist Eliseo Mattiacci, introduced EMLibrary. This initiative features monthly video previews that connect Mattiacci's artworks with selections from his extensive personal library, which contains around 2,500 volumes amassed over six decades. Each video is paired with a brief commentary from a critic, historian, or curator that delves into the interplay between the chosen book and a specific piece of art. The series commenced with a focus on pre-Columbian cultures, highlighted by Sara Fontana, and will soon shift to Pablo Picasso, featuring Francesca Cattoi. Collaborators include notable figures such as Luca Massimo Barbero and Barbara Cinelli. Cornelia Mattiacci envisions organizing a study day and potentially digitizing the library while ensuring an open and non-didactic format.
