Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten discuss 'We Want It All' at Romaeuropa Festival
The 37th edition of the Romaeuropa Festival has begun in Rome, featuring music, dance, contemporary art, and digital technologies. The opening performance was by ICK Dans Amsterdam, founded in 2009 by Italian-Dutch duo Emio Greco (born 1965 in Brindisi) and Pieter C. Scholten (born 1959 in Vlaardingen). In a podcast series titled 'Monologhi al Telefono' by Donatella Giordano, the artists discuss their latest show 'We Want It All,' presented on September 8 and 9 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The title is borrowed from Freddie Mercury's song 'I Want It All,' with the lyrics 'We want it all and we want it now' serving as a warning. The performance consists of eleven endings selected from approximately sixty shows created between 1995 and 2020, portraying both an end and a new beginning. From the center of a vast vortex of uncertainties characterizing the present moment, the epilogues become the start of something new, a new hope.
