Emilio Vedova: 300 Drawings on a 27-Meter Wall for 10th Death Anniversary
Ten years after Emilio Vedova's death, the Fondazione Vedova in Venice presents a major exhibition of his drawings, curated by Germano Celant and Fabrizio Gazzarri. The show features a 27-meter-long by 3-meter-high wall displaying 300 works from 1940 to 2006, arranged densely to form a multifaceted fresco of his drawing practice. Two display cases briefly cover his early output from 1935. The exhibition space, designed by Renzo Piano, includes an automated system for moving archived works, separate from the artist's former studio which houses the ticket office and bookshop. Two series of large canvases (teleri) from the 1980s are also on view. The accompanying catalogue is published by lineadacqua. The exhibition runs until November 1, 2016, at the Fondazione Vedova in Venice.
