Emilio Isgrò's sail for Pasolini's boat at Venice Film Festival

For the 79th Venice International Film Festival, the historic boat Edipo Re, in collaboration with The Venice Venice Hotel, presents La Vela di Emilio Isgrò. The work, entirely realized by the artist, celebrates the centenary of Pier Paolo Pasolini. The creation will sail aboard Edipo Re for the summer navigation period and will meet the public starting August 31 at the shores of Isola Edipo, a venue between the heart of the Venice Lagoon and the Film Festival. It will also become the symbol of the new edition of the Premio Inclusione Edipo Re, an official collateral award of the Film Festival promoted by Edipo Re, with guests and jurors actor Filippo Timi, writer and Campiello Prize finalist Elena Stancanelli, and internationally renowned musician Chiara Civello. The boat Edipo Re, moored in Venice after decades of coast-to-coast navigation, became a theater of extraordinary crossings for Pasolini and painter Giuseppe Zigaina, hosting figures like Maria Callas and Ninetto Davoli. Today, under the curation of Edipo Re Impresa Sociale and Pellestrana Società Benefit, founded by Sibylle Righetti and Enrico Vianello, with artistic direction by Silvia Jop, Edipo Re returns to 'navigate' with the same intent, now also focusing on social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
