Elvira Dyangani Ose appointed curator for 2015 Gothenburg International Biennial

Elvira Dyangani Ose will organize the eighth Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (GIBCA) in 2015. Her appointment was announced in June 2014. The biennial is scheduled from 12 September to 22 November 2015. Dyangani Ose holds the position of Curator International Art at Tate Modern, a role supported by Guaranty Trust Bank Plc. In 2013, she co-curated the Ibrahim El-Salahi: A Visionary Modernist exhibition at Tate Modern. Previously, she worked as a curator at the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno from 2004 to 2006 and at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo from 2006 to 2008. During her earlier curatorial roles, she organized exhibitions that included works by artists such as General Idea, the Viennese Actionists, Alfredo Jaar, and Lara Almárcegui.
