Elmarsa Gallery Presents Rachid Koraïchi Solo Exhibition
From February 27 to May 25, 2024, Elmarsa Gallery in Dubai will showcase a solo exhibition by Algerian artist Rachid Koraïchi. This exhibition features a variety of artistic forms, including significant site-specific installations like Les Prieurs and Les Priants, which are impressive sculptures made of polished bronze and green patina. Additionally, 21 distinctive Corten steel sculptures that create dynamic shadows will be displayed. Accompanying these are two-dimensional pieces and silk organza tapestries adorned with glyphs, hung on the gallery's three-meter walls, reflecting the theme of seasonal changes. Koraïchi's work is influenced by his Sufi background and the writings of mystic poets such as Rûmî and Ibn Arabi, and he has worked with modern literary figures like Mahmoud Darwish. A text, translated and edited by Gerard Houghton from 'SIGNS OF OUR TIMES: From Calligraphy to Calligraffiti,' will accompany the exhibition.
