Ellie Buttrose to curate 2026 Adelaide Biennial
Ellie Buttrose has been selected as the curator for the 2026 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, set to run from February 27 to June 7, 2026. Buttrose, currently the Curator of Contemporary Australian Art at the Queensland Art Gallery, previously showcased successful exhibitions, including 'Living Patterns' in 2023. She also led the Australia Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale, where Archie Moore, a Kamilaroi and Bigambul artist, received the prestigious Golden Lion for Best National Participation for his poignant work, 'kith and kin,' which honors members of First Nations communities who have lost their lives in police custody.
