Ellen Harvey Retrospective 'PICTURE(SQUE)' Opens at USF Contemporary Art Museum

The USF Contemporary Art Museum (USFCAM), affiliated with the College of Design, Art & Performance, is set to unveil 'PICTURE(SQUE): Ellen Harvey Works, 1999-2025', a significant retrospective showcasing the Anglo-American artist Ellen Harvey. This exhibition will kick off on Monday, August 24, and will feature an Artist Conversation and Exhibition Reception on Friday, August 28. It will be accessible for free until March 6, 2027. Spanning over twenty years, the display explores themes such as nostalgia's transformative power, the intersection of art and tourism, and the societal roles of art and artists, alongside the social and ecological aspects of the picturesque. The exhibition includes four key bodies of work that both celebrate and challenge these concepts. Harvey, renowned for her multimedia approach, often critiques traditional art histories, making this retrospective a vital acknowledgment of her impact on contemporary art.
