Eliza Douglas debuts at Gagosian with GHOSTS exhibition

Gagosian has revealed that Eliza Douglas will showcase her new mixed-media paintings in an exhibition titled GHOSTS, set to open at the Park & 75 venue in New York on May 12. This exhibition marks both Douglas's first solo presentation in New York and her debut with the gallery. It also serves as the first in a series of solo exhibitions curated by Francesco Bonami, who emphasized that the distinctive and historic nature of the Park & 75 space is perfect for fostering innovative viewpoints that align with the gallery’s programming. Douglas's works, often referred to as "meta-paintings," reflect a consciousness of their own history and status, frequently incorporating elements from advertising and popular culture, alongside gestural abstraction, highlighting art's role as a commodity.
