Eliseo Mattiacci Retrospective at Mart Closes Sculpture Trilogy

The Mart in Rovereto concludes a trilogy on contemporary sculpture with a retrospective of Eliseo Mattiacci (born 1940 in Cagli), following shows on Giuseppe Penone and Robert Morris. The exhibition reveals a more experimental Mattiacci, less confined to formal issues, through a dialogue between pure form, tradition, and contemporary allusions. Rare works like 'Locomotiva' (1964), 'Parafulmine, attirafulmine, neutro' (1965), 'Sette corpi di energia' (1973), 'Cultura mummificata' (1972), 'Esplorazione magnetica' (1988), 'Gong' (1993), and 'Piattaforma esplorativa' (2008) explore themes of astronomy, magnetism, and gravitation.
