Elisabetta Di Maggio's Connective Structures at Galleria Christian Stein
Elisabetta Di Maggio (b. 1964, Milan) presents her second solo exhibition at Galleria Christian Stein, titled 'Punto Improprio', facing the historic garden. The show features oxidized copper dragonfly wings ('Annunciazione #2', 2025) described by the artist as 'a green heavy with expectations, historiated like church windows, recalling Piero della Francesca's geometrism and the invisible exoskeleton of the magnificent animal'. A large tapestry in medical gauze inlaid with wax micromosaic ('Improprio', 2025) reassembles fragments into a new geography, evoking a city map, subway network, or embryo complexity. Laser-cut eucalyptus leaves, alchemical and fragile, are encased in a vitrine. Di Maggio's work metaphorically reflects on existence, from thin threads supporting the whole to structured agglomerates, harmonizing subtle flows and cosmogonies into a filiform order. The exhibition runs at Galleria Christian Stein in Milan.
