Elisabetta Benassi's 'Pietre di testa' at Litografia R. Bulla in Rome

The twelfth installment of the Passaggi series at Litografia R. Bulla in Rome features 'Pietre di testa,' showcasing a fresh collection of graphic works by Elisabetta Benassi (born in Rome, 1966), which will be displayed until February 3, 2023. In partnership with Galleria Magazzino, these pieces reflect the artist's influences and mentors, including her early training with Nunzio and nostalgic recollections of her initial visits to the print shop over three decades ago. Benassi has utilized lithographic stones from the Bulla family archive, printing their reverse sides to expose unintentional marks left by notable artists such as Nunzio, Jannis Kounellis, and others. This investigation into accidental artistry aligns with Benassi's previous work, 'Memorie di un cieco' (2010). The Bulla family's lithography enterprise, established in Paris in 1818 and relocated to Rome in 1840, has collaborated with prominent artists like Mario Schifano and Georg Baselitz, with Beatrice and Flaminia Bulla representing the current generation.
