ElevenLabs Launches Music v2 with Genre-Switching Capability

ElevenLabs, a company specializing in voice AI, has introduced Music v2, an upgraded music-generation model capable of transitioning between genres within a single track, such as from opera to heavy metal. This model adeptly manages intricate vocals and compositions, produces rapid rap while maintaining clarity, and incorporates non-musical sound effects. Artists can isolate segments of a song to recreate them with prompts, allowing for the construction of songs by sections (intro, verse, chorus) before combining them. Music v2 performs consistently across various languages, lyrics, vocals, and arrangements. This release follows the initial version by nearly 10 months. The AI music generation sector is highly competitive, with similar offerings from Google, Stability AI, and Suno. At Google I/O, Google introduced features for cover creation, section editing, and music video production through Flow Music. ElevenLabs highlights that Music v2 utilizes licensed data, ensuring it is cleared for commercial use, which is vital as competitors like Suno and Udio contend with copyright issues. The model is accessible via ElevenLabs' ElevenCreative tool for marketing teams and the newly launched ElevenMusic platform for AI-generated songs, with ElevenAPI access expected soon.
