ELEM's New Video 'Miroir' Channels Godard's Tout va bien
The Italian collective ELEM, comprising multimedia artist Loredana Antonelli, producer Marco Messina (of 99posse), and composer Fabrizio Elvetico (student of Franco Donatoni), has released a new music video titled 'Miroir'. The video draws from Jean-Luc Godard's 1972 film Tout va bien, the final work of the Dziga Vertov Group co-founded with Jean-Pierre Gorin. In a 1972 Le Monde interview, Godard described the film as a love story set against class struggle, featuring Jane Fonda and Yves Montand. 'Miroir' incorporates fragments of dialogue from the film while abstracting the characters' bodies until they dissolve, blurring public and private spheres. The video accompanies the single 'Miroir', which launches ELEM's upcoming album 'Godere operaio', set for release on January 25 via Mahana Bay Label in Lyon.
