Eleanor Nairne Appointed Modern and Contemporary Art Head at Philadelphia Museum of Art
Eleanor Nairne is set to take on the role of Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where she will lead the modern and contemporary art division. Before this, she spent almost nine years as a senior curator at the Barbican Art Gallery in London. While there, she organized significant exhibitions like Alice Neel: Hot Off The Griddle (2023) and Soheila Sokhanvari: Rebel Rebel (2022), as well as Julianknxx's Chorus in Rememory of Flight, which runs until February 11, 2024. Nairne, who has experience with the Artangel Collection at Tate, is excited to connect Philadelphia with global audiences. Sasha Suda, the museum's director, emphasized that her international background fits the museum's goals. She will start her new role at the end of this month.
