festival-fair · 2026-04-26

From May 27 to 31, 2026, Shkodër will host the 9th edition of Ekrani i Artit, Albania's festival dedicated to experimental cinema and video art. Under the direction of Tea Paci and with curatorial input from Arnold Braho, Maurin Dietrich, and Stefano Romano, this year's theme is 'Avash, Avash' (meaning 'slowly, slowly' in Albanian), promoting a deeper connection with visual narratives. The festival kicks off on May 27 at 19:00 with the Albanian premiere of 'Adnan, Being and Time' by Marie Valentine Regan at Kinema Republika. Concurrently, Maurin Dietrich's exhibition 'People Are Closer Than They Appear' will debut at 18:00 at the Civic Art Gallery, featuring artists such as Andrea Büttner and Yalda Afsah. Activities will occur across various venues, including courtyard screenings and a workshop in partnership with Dokufest, led by Elsa Demo. All events are free and accessible to the public, with the festival organized by Art House Foundation and Anima Pictures since 2017.
