Ekke Maaß recalls Bärbel Bohley in Berlin salon

Ekkehard Maaß, a singer and publicist, reflects on his encounters with East German civil rights activist and artist Bärbel Bohley in his legendary Literarischer Salon in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. The film 'Bärbel Bohley – Tagebuch einer Auflehnung' has generated attention but left many questions unanswered about Bohley's life. Maaß, born in 1951, studied at Berlin's Humboldt University and met Bohley relatively late. He now opens old calendars to share memories of apartment readings, arrests, and her life after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The interview appears in the current issue of Der Freitag.
