Eight Sculptors Explore Found Materials in Bushwick Exhibition Curated by Luisa Caldwell

Between October 1 and November 6, 2016, The Parlour Bushwick presented 'What a World, What a World,' an exhibition curated by Luisa Caldwell that featured eight sculptors who utilized found materials. This event took place at 791 Bushwick Avenue in Brooklyn. Among the works were Donna Huanca's 'Hooker Shoes' (2016), a vase adorned with artificial flowers by Jane Benson, and a collaborative installation by Jude Tallichet and Matt Freedman featuring a ghost piano. Ron Baron's 'The House Stripped Bare, Really' (2016) illustrated a suburban landscape, while Anna Rosen's 'Root People' (2016) displayed crude clay figures. Jewelry-sized tableaus by Harry Finkelstein and Caroline Cox's 'Whirl' (2016), which referenced physical behaviors, were also included. Caldwell's goal was to juxtapose refined and casual aesthetics. Additionally, 'Fish Tank,' co-curated by Freedman, was suggested at LIU's Humanities Gallery.
