Eight Male Artists Explore Blindness and Femininity at Galleria Monitor in Pereto

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Galleria Monitor in Pereto presents 'The Blind leading the Blind', a group show curated by Lucia Cantò featuring eight male artists who reflect on blindness and femininity through diverse media. The exhibition, open until June 27, draws on texts by Louise Bourgeois, Simone Weil, the Diotima collective, and Chiara Zamboni. Artists include Francesco Alberico, Gianluca Ragni, Lorenzo Kamerlengo, Simone Camerlengo, Gioele Pomante, Giovanni Paolo Fedele, Eliano Serafini, and Matteo Fato. Alberico's photographic diptych captures a performance in a city square. Ragni's bronze box bears cuneiform script meaning 'without window'. Lorenzo Kamerlengo's bas-relief in autoclaved aerated concrete references doodles and diverse styles. Simone Camerlengo presents gestural paintings and a boundary-like sculpture. Pomante's video installation in the cistern shows fireworks in a cemetery. Fedele, a seminarian in Gabon, contributed photographs of natural elements used for fertility. Serafini's plaster and cement slabs evoke fragility, with a fish bone on a golden plate. Matteo Fato performed a serenade with his father Giambattista, based on a poem by Gianni Garrera. The show is accompanied by a publication containing visual and verbal content from the artists.
