EGO Projects hosts 'Cosa Vedi' with Özlem Sorlu Thompson and Zhao Wenliang

From September 15 to October 15, 2025, EGO Projects in Milan presents 'Cosa Vedi', a two-artist exhibition curated by Filippo Zagarese. The show pairs Turkish-born Özlem Sorlu Thompson (b. 1983, Istanbul) and Chinese-born Zhao Wenliang (b. 2003, Xuzhou), who work across abstraction and figuration. Thompson, who studied biology and botany, creates vibrant, metamorphic landscapes blending post-impressionism and color field painting, and has been named 'Contemporary Artist of the Year' for London and South East England by Prestige Awards UK. She also collaborates with eco-conscious fashion designers. Zhao's works feature mythological creatures and silent sentinels within textured landscapes rooted in Chinese tradition. The exhibition invites visitors to contribute to a collective 'di-segni' notebook, turning personal marks into a shared visual landscape. The curatorial framework references Walter Benjamin, John Berger, Plato, and Nietzsche to question what it means to see in an image-saturated era.
