Gallimard has published a collection of letters by Efratia Gitai, spanning from 1929 to 1994, addressed to her son Amos, father Elyahu, and friend Yehoshua. The correspondence chronicles a pioneering family shaped by Zionist crises and torn between Israel and broader horizons. The book includes an introduction recounting a family visit and Efratia's mother Esther, who was born in Bialystok under Tsar Nicholas II, arrested as a young pioneer, and later immigrated to Palestine in 1907.
