Edwardian treasures from Royal Collection debut in Edinburgh exhibition
More than 150 works from the Royal Collection, including Queen Alexandra's groundbreaking Coronation gown, are on display at The King's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The exhibition, 'The Edwardians: Age of Elegance', explores the lives of King Edward VII, Queen Alexandra, King George V, and Queen Mary during an era of opulence and rapid change. Over half the items are shown in Scotland for the first time. Queen Alexandra's ensemble, designed by the female-led Parisian fashion house Morin Blossier, features a mauve velvet mantle and a gown laced with gold. Also on view is a never-before-exhibited royal portrait of Queen Mary and a wartime portrayal of North Queensferry. The exhibition runs at The King's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse.
