Educational videogame about ancient Rome launches for schools

digital · 2026-04-27

Cultrip has developed a narrative videogame titled 'Al Parco con Claudio: un percorso di rivincita' to support history curricula for 4th and 5th grade elementary and 1st grade middle school students. The game is set in Rome in 6 AD at the court of Emperor Augustus and follows the story of Claudius, a 15-year-old member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty who was bullied and marginalized due to his disability. Players help Claudius gain self-confidence through adventures set between the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. The game is available for free on the Parco archeologico del Colosseo website and can be used in class via interactive whiteboard or remotely. It includes an illustrated album where students collect stickers earned by completing levels. The game addresses themes of bullying, disability, and redemption based on historical accounts.
