Edoardo Tresoldi creates transparent installation on the sea at Sapri for Derive festival

The municipality of Sapri has commissioned Edoardo Tresoldi to create a transparent installation on the sea for the first edition of Derive, a experimental project of art, music and poetry conceived by Antonio Oriente, president of the association Incipit based in Sapri. The event will take place from July 21 to 23, 2017 in the Santa Croce area, between the sea, neo-Gothic buildings and the archaeological site of the Roman Villa in the Cilento region of Campania. A permanent work by Massimo Uberti will also be inaugurated. The installation by Tresoldi is designed to host a performance by Sardinian singer-songwriter Iosonouncane, in his only 2017 date in southern Italy. The sculpture is ephemeral and will disappear after its cycle, leaving the pre-existing balance. Tresoldi had previously created a monumental figure of a man in Sapri in 2014 for the Festival Oltre il Muro, which remains. The project also includes poetry readings by Franco Arminio at the Church of Santa Croce. Oriente is also behind Breath, a reforestation of Monte Olivella by street artist Escif starting in September.
