Edoardo Tresoldi brings Etherea to Coachella 2018

Italian artist Edoardo Tresoldi (born 1987 in Cambiago) installed his work Etherea at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. The installation consists of three transparent, classical-inspired structures repeated at scales of 10, 16, and 21 meters, referencing historical architecture and masters like Borromini. Visitors can walk through the spaces, which are identical but of different proportions. Tresoldi, recently named to Forbes' list of the 30 most influential artists in Europe, previously gained attention with Sacral (2016) at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia in Milan. Coachella 2018 also featured other large-scale installations: Lodestar by Randy Polumbo, Spectra by NEWSUBSTANCE, Supernova by Roberto Behare and Rosario Marquardt, Palm-3 Word Station by Simón Vega, Display this Oasis by Katie Stoute, and Metta&Ditto by Adam Ferriss. The festival emphasized creativity, innovation, and sustainability, including recycling bins decorated by the TRASHed Art of Recycling initiative.
