Edoardo Manzoni's 'Fame' at State Of Explores Hunting and Power

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Edoardo Manzoni (Crema, 1993) presents his solo exhibition 'Fame' at State Of, a new exhibition space in Milan's Porta Romana district hosted within Aretè Showroom. The show examines hunting as a metaphor for power dynamics between humans and animals, using works that conceal violence through abstraction and seduction. Featured pieces include photographic prints on extruded polystyrene (Scena I, Scena II) from family hunting encyclopedias, where Manzoni removed the dog figure to hide violence. The installation 'Allodoliere' references a historical decoy trap with rotating mirrors. A mannequin sculpture 'Senza Titolo (Trap)' wears fur and a golden canine denture, connecting primitive hunting costumes to hip-hop iconography of ostentation. A talk titled 'A come Animale' with Leonardo Caffo will be held on February 5 at 18:30. Manzoni's interest in hunting began with old prints from his grandparents, leading to the series 'Settembre' that used screens on branches to evoke childhood landscapes.
