Edoardo Bonaspetti named artistic director of Fondazione Henraux
Edoardo Bonaspetti has been appointed artistic director of Fondazione Henraux, marking a new phase for the foundation. Bonaspetti, who previously chaired the jury for the Fondazione Henraux Prize, left his role as director of Mousse, a project he founded. The foundation, established in 2011 by Paolo Carli, president of Henraux S.p.A., a marble and granite company based in Querceta (Lucca) since 1821, continues the legacy of Erminio Cidonio, who in the 1950s and 1960s invited renowned sculptors like Henry Moore, Georges Vantongerloo, Hans Arp, and Isamu Noguchi to work at its facilities. The foundation will now conceive and produce exhibition projects and support artists and institutions working with marble, leveraging the company's nearly 200 years of expertise. Bonaspetti stated that projects will be located throughout Italy with future expansion abroad, sometimes starting from a specific place and inviting artists to dialogue with it, other times letting the artist and project define the location. The foundation's website has been redesigned with a contemporary look. The 2018 edition of the Fondazione Henraux Prize featured a renewed jury, including Ilaria Bonacossa, Eike Schmidt, Roberta Tenconi, and Andrea Viliani.
