András Edit, an esteemed art historian, critic, and curator, has been honored as the 2024 Igor Zabel Award Laureate for her significant contributions to Eastern European art and history. Additionally, grants were presented to curator Irfan Hošić, philosopher Ovidiu Ţichindeleanu, and artist-curator Natalija Vujošević. This biennial award, established in memory of Igor Zabel (1958–2005) and first awarded in 2008, provides EUR85,000 to recognize achievements in visual arts and culture throughout Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. The jury comprised Manuel Borja-Villel, Ilona Németh, and Angelika Richter. A ceremony is scheduled for 29 November at the Museum of Modern Art in Ljubljana, which will be preceded by a seminar for the awardees to showcase their work.
