Edible Schoolyard NYC Raises Over $900,000 at Annual Spring Reception

Edible Schoolyard NYC, a nonprofit inspired by Alice Waters' initiative in Berkeley, made an impressive impact by raising over $900,000 at its annual spring event held on a Tribeca rooftop. The event drew many well-known figures from New York's food scene, including chefs Andy Baraghani and Clare de Boer, along with food critic Melissa Clark and former New York Times critic Pete Wells. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal crafted by Nick Curtola of Four Horsemen and I Cavallini, featuring dishes like poached white asparagus, lamb sausage, and strawberry rhubarb semifreddo. An auction showcased exclusive items such as line-skipping passes to top restaurants, trips to London and Tuscany, and tickets to NYC Ballet and Broadway. Funds raised will support hands-on cooking and gardening programs in public schools throughout New York.
