Edda Announces New Album 'Graziosa Utopia' with Single 'Benedicimi'

publication · 2026-05-05

Stefano Rampoldi, known as Edda, will release his new album 'Graziosa Utopia' on February 24. The album follows three years after 'Stavolta come mi ammazzerai?' and eight years after 'Semper Biot', which marked his return to music. Described as mature, desperate, dense with spirituality and provocations, the album is produced and distributed by Woodworm Label. The cover art, designed by Davide Toffolo of Tre allegri ragazzi morti, features a surreal-pop illustration, with a limited-edition poster included with vinyl purchases. The lead single 'Benedicimi' has been circulating since December 20, accompanied by a music video. Edda, former frontman of the Italian hard-rock band Ritmo Tribale, disappeared in 1996 at the height of success, battling heroin addiction. After twelve years of silence, he worked as a construction laborer in Milan before returning to music as a solo artist in 2012. Converted to the Hare Krishna movement, Edda speaks of himself in the feminine, reflecting his spiritual identity. 'Benedicimi' is a rock-infused prayer for a woman, blending guitar reverberations and string arrangements. The video features dancers in a domestic setting, with colorful lettering. Edda has now left construction work to focus solely on music.
